Gym Workouts In Point Pleasant Boro Broke Coronavirus Order: Cops
A Point Boro business owner was charged with breaking NJ's coronavirus restrictions because she had workouts at her gym, police said.

POINT PLEASANT BORO – A business owner was charged with breaking New Jersey's coronavirus outbreak restrictions because she allowed workouts at her gym, police said.
Janice Lauria, owner of Anytime Fitness located at 2809 Route 88 in Point Pleasant, was charged on Wednesday with four counts of violating the order, police said.
The Point Pleasant Police Department said it had received numerous complaints from area residents reporting that people were using her gym, Anytime Fitness, to workout, police said.

The Point Pleasant Police Department gave Lauria numerous warnings, dating back to the beginning of March, detailing the violation of the executive order, police said.
On Wednesday, as part of a "compliance detail," officers from the Point Pleasant Police Department observed people entering a side door of Anytime Fitness. The front windows had also been covered with an opaque material, blocking the ability to view the inside of the gym, police said.

These people were observed at various times exiting the gym after approximately one hour. Random people were approached as they exited the gym, police said.
These people admitted to working out in the gym, stating that the owner would open the side door for them, police said.
Anyone violating the order could be subject to imprisonment for a term not to exceed six months or shall pay a fine not to exceed $1,000, police said.
