Halloween Events Going On This Week In The Point Pleasant Area
From skate contests to fun runs, here are some Halloween events going on in the Point Pleasant area this week.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – With Halloween coming up this weekend, parents from all over the Beach and the Boro are trying to come up with ideas to get the most out of the holiday and the most candy for their kids.
Both Point Pleasant Beach and Point Pleasant Borough have events later this week that will make sure your family is getting into the Halloween spirit.
In the Boro, the Point Pleasant Police Department’s Community Watch is sponsoring a “Trick or Trunk” event and costume contest on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m., at Community Park with a rain date of Oct. 27.

The borough is also hosting a “Haunts in the Park” event on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 5-9 p.m., also at Community Park, with a rain date of Friday, Oct. 29.
There will be two types of walks, a G-rated one for little kids from 5 to 6 p.m. that is $2 a person, and the regular walk, which is $5, from 6-9 p.m. There will also be a DJ playing Halloween music for all the ghosts and goblins to groove to.

Over in the Beach, the Point Pleasant Kiwanis are sponsoring a Pumpkin Palooza on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Pleasure Park in Point Beach from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The cost for the event, which has pumpkin decorating, Halloween-themed games and crafts, as well as a costume contest, food, and a family photographer, is $10 per pre-registered child and $12 for kids not registered as of Oct. 21.
The Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad is also hosting its 12th -annual Monster Dash 5K and One-Mile Fun Run on Oct. 30, starting at Jenkison’s Pavillion. To register for either the race or the run, you can go online.
The borough’s recreation committee is also sponsoring the “Grom-o-Ween” skate and costume contest at the borough’s skatepark on Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the borough skate park on the corner of Arnold and St. Louis Avenues.
