Here's What Point Pleasant Boro Schools Say About Graduation

POINT PLEASANT BORO – Superintendent Vincent Smith said Monday that Point Pleasant Boro schools will look into a course of action for graduation and other events now that Gov. Phil Murphy has closed schools for the rest of the academic year.

In a letter to the district, Smith said Point Pleasant Boro schools will continue with the district's remote learning plan currently in place.

The district will also continue to await further guidance from the Governor’s Office on procedures to address end-of-the-year events, such as graduation, "in the most socially responsible way."

"We will continue to monitor this situation and, as I assured you in my letter to you last week, no final decisions have been made at this time," he said.

Smith said he will update the district with any plans put in place once more direction is given "and we are able to move forward with a plan in the best interest of the health and safety of students, staff and the Point Pleasant community."
