Illegal Fireworks Are Likely The Cause Of Brush Fire In Point Pleasant Beach
One adult charged with possession of illegal fireworks, police said.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH - Illegal fireworks were the probable cause of a brush fire along the Manasaquan Inlet on Tuesday night, according to nj.com.
The blaze began right after the display put on by Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant Beach. Officials said someone set off the illegal fireworks.
One adult was arrested for possession of illegal fireworks, police said. More charges are possible as the investigation continues.

“We heard this ‘bang, bang, bang,’ and we thought it was kids probably throwing off fireworks from the jetty,” says resident Katheryn Pramuk.
Fire crews put out the blaze within minutes.

Point Pleasant Beach Fire Chief Ira Waldman says that the brush fire is a good example of why people should leave fireworks displays to professionals.
“Doing stuff like that puts everybody’s lives in danger," he said. "The people, the houses…certainly the firefighters."
