Kids vs. Adults in Two Charitable Basketball Games at Point Pleasant Borough's Middle School

Memorial Middle School to host Seniors v. Staff on Thursday and Kids v. Cops on April 7

Two fundraising basketball games pitting adults against students are coming up at Point Pleasant Borough.

The first game is Seniors v. Staff on Thursday, with teachers and coaches playing high school seniors. All proceeds from ticket sales go towards Project Graduation, a supervised, alcohol- and drug-free celebration after high school graduation.

The second game is Kids v. Cops on April 7, with members of the Policemen's Benevolent Association 158, borough police officers, playing the eighth grade boys basketball team. All proceeds benefit the eighth grade class.

Attendees of the April 7 game should hold onto their ticket stubs for prizes during half-time. Challengers will play each other during half-time.

Both games start at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each for both games.

Project Graduation will be held at the Atlantic Club at 11 p.m. June 17, after the high school graduation earlier that day. The event is free to all graduates, but funds must be raised to cover costs.

Other fundraisers to support the event includes an ongoing spring flower sale. Orders are being taken until April 8. For more information on the flower sale, visit the high school web page.

Jim Foley, the Student Assistance Counselor at the High School and the adviser for Project Graduation, is also looking for public input on other fundraising ideas, said Jacquelyn  Goss, a public relations representative for the district.
