POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Point Pleasant Beach police are urging residents to take precautions ahead of severe storms moving across New Jersey on Thursday.

A state of emergency has been declared and is expected to be in place through 6 a.m. Friday due to the potential for flash floods.

Those in flood-prone areas of the borough are urged to move their vehicles to elevated areas, and police said the NJ Transit train station parking lot is available for those who need to move them.
