NBC Sales Executive to Be Honored by Point Beach Education Foundation

Jennifer Hunziker Kelber is one of five Point Pleasant Beach High School alumni who will be honored by the Point Pleasant Beach Public Education Foundation on Friday night.

Kelber, who graduated in 1974, and the other new inductees in the foundation's Hall of Fame, are being honored at the Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant. Cocktails are at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the inductions at 7:30 p.m.

Other honorees are: former Point Pleasant Beach High School Principal Raymond D. Ellis; former mayor Jack Pasola, John Christopher Amelchenko and Peter Joseph Ryan.

Mrs. Kelber was voted “most popular” by the Point Pleasant Beach High School class of 1989 and continues to connect with people today as an advertising account executive for NBC Universal in New York City.

Prior to working and living in the New York City, Mrs. Kelber called Bay Head home. She entered Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1985 and began laying the groundwork for her success.

While at Point Beach, she participated in several activities, including earning honors as a varsity cheerleader while leading the squad as captain during the 1988 and 1989 basketball and football seasons. She earned a varsity letter in soccer and served as the manager for both the wrestling and baseball teams.

She also led the 1989 senior powderpuff girls as they participated in the annual powderpuff gridiron classic.

Mrs. Kelber was a 1989 Miss Point High candidate and the 1987 homecoming queen. Prior to her senior year in high school, she also participated in the Key Club and worked on the Yearbook Committee.

After graduating in 1989, Mrs. Kelber attended Northeastern University in Boston. Eager to kick-start her career, she participated in the widely recognized cooperative education program offered at Northeastern. While going through the program, Mrs. Kelber worked at Lehman Brothers and Metro Market Studies.

She earned a bachelor of science degree in June 1994 in the area of business and marketing.

After graduating, Mrs. Kelber started working in New York City at Grey Advertising/Mediacom. She started as an assistant media buyer and quickly moved up the ranks to media director.

While with Grey Advertising, she worked on behalf of many well-known companies such as Kraft, Hasbro, Ethan Allen, Playtex and M&M Mars.

In 1999, Mrs. Kelber moved into sales at NBC Universal and, to date, is still employed by the company, working as an account executive in primetime advertising sales. In her position as an account executive, she is currently working with clients such as Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Microsoft and Walmart to reach goals through network television, digital and social media vehicles.

Some past projects and achievements include working with her team at Mediacom, introducing Hasbro Toy Company’s first large-scale advertising plan and helping the company reach the adult consumer; working with Macy’s to bring the Macy’s Passport to Fashion HIV/AIDS benefit to life; and and working with Liberty Mutual to help launch the Responsibility Campaign.

In addition to those accomplishments, Mrs. Kelber has been chosen with her colleagues to represent her company at numerous prestigious televised events — including the Olympics in Sydney, Athens, Beijing and, most recently, Vancouver.

Through the advertising community, Mrs. Kelber has taken part in many charitable events, such as the Association of National Advertisers, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, The Reisenbach Foundation and Careoke For Kids. She is proud to have been a Wish Angel honoree, which allowed her to help grant wishes for terminally ill children through the Jason’s Dreams for Kids Foundation.

Mrs. Kelber said whether it is the thrill of the sale, the many events that her career has taken her to or the contacts that she has made, she is most satisfied with the fact her career has given her the fortune of surrounding herself with many people who have constantly challenged her to be the best she can be.

Recently married in September to Mark Kelber of Brick, she and her husband enjoy their time in New York City, as well as weekends down at the beach with friends and family. Mrs. Kelber’s parents, Robert and Carole Hunziker; her sister, Kim Rowe Galli, and family, Ron, Missy and Mackenzie Galli; as well as Mr. Kelber’s mother, Patricia Kelber Morris, and daughters, Alexa and Kendal, all reside in the Bay Head and Point Pleasant area. Alexa and Kendal presently attend Point Pleasant Beach High School.

The Point Pleasant Beach Public Education Foundation congratulated Mrs. Kelber, Point Pleasant Beach High School class of 1989, on her success in the advertising media world and for her involvement with professional, charitable organizations.
