"She is back at college in Maryland," Kathy said. "She got back early Saturday morning. She is a graduate assistant there and doing an internship online, getting a masters in a month or so."

Kirby posted a message on Facebook, saying she "would like to thank all those who not only wished my friends and me a speedy return from Peru, but helped my friends and I get home by reaching out to state officials and spreading the word through social media!"
