
Power is now restored at Point Pleasant Borough High School where an outage had prompted an early student dismissal shortly before 12:30 p.m. today.
The power outage started at the high school at 12:02 p.m. and was restored at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday, said Gerry Ricciardi, JCP&L area manager.

The cause of the outage was a seagull had gotten in between two wires which shorted out the power and caused fuses to blow.
"We cleared the bird off the lines and then re-fused the service," Ricciardi said.

Please note that the power outage has also interrupted web service in the district, therefore the district and school websites are currently down. The power is currently out at the high school only. The school is currently on generator power. All other schools have power.
