Point Pleasant Beach Police Asking for the Public's Help Catching TV Bandits

Point Pleasant Beach police are asking the public for help in finding two white men who stole eight televisions from a restaurant under construction at 709  Arnold Ave.

Police have released surveillance photos shot at the scene of the incident, which apparently occurred at about 6 p.m Sunday, Detective Patrick Petruzziello said.

At about 8 a.m. Monday, police Officer Paschal Drew responded to a call at the restaurant where the victim reported that eight Hitachi, ultra-vision, 55-inch plasma TVs had been stolen, Petruzziello said.

The suspects entered the building through a locked, side alleyway door and loaded them into a vehicle believed to be a 2008 or 2009 Toyota Tacoma.

Petruzziello said police are not disclosing details about how entry was made.

A shorter suspect was wearing a sweatshirt that had the words “Performance Engines” on the back, Petruzziello said.

He added that the surveillance photos are screen shots of video surveillance shot at the scene, police said.

Police are urging anyone with information about the identities of the suspects or anything else pertinent to the case to call Detective Clint Daniel, 732-892-0500, ext. 160.

Information on the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce website says the restaurant, to be called 709, which matches the address, is scheduled to open next month.
