Point Pleasant Borough Girl Scouts Have Their Cake and Eat it Too During Tour of 'Cake Boss' Bakery
Troop 1449 also meets famous cast member at Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken
Point Pleasant Borough Girl Scout Troop 1449 watched desserts being made from scratch, got a full tour of Carlo's Bake Shop and met a famous baker at the home base of the "Cake Boss" in Hoboken.
Fourth-grade girl scouts from and elementary schools recently toured Carlo's Bake Shop, known to millions of television viewers across the country as the bakery shown in TLC's "Cake Boss."
The girls met Joey Faugno, cast member and brother-in-law of Buddy Valastro, bakery owner and star of the popular reality television series.

Kelley Mickle, troop leader, and Kristine Brown, a former troop leader, and the Girl Scouts got to see various cakes and confections made from scratch and bought some delicious goodies.
They also gave the store a card to pass along to Valastro that said "Congratulations" to him and his wife, Lisa, for the recent birth of their new baby boy.

The front of the card said, "Welcome Carlo Salvatore, Feb. 14, 2011," which is the baby's name and birth date.
Inside, the card said "thank you" for the tour and had a photo of all the troop members.
