Point Pleasant Man Takes Tumble On Icy Sidewalk, Awarded $900,000
Incident happened six years ago in front of business on East Atlantic Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH - A man who fell on an icy sidewalk in front of Palumbo Appliance Hardware has been awarded $900,000 six years later, according to a report in nj.com.
Gregory Wieboldt, 47, was awarded the money after he agreed to the settlement of his lawsuit. Wieboldt broke his left leg and left ankle on Jan. 28, 2011. He sued the business after the Jan. 28, 2011 accident, according to NJ Law Journal.com.
His attorney contended the sidewalk hadn't been properly cleared of snow or treated with salt following a storm several days earlier.

Wieboldt also had a pre-existing hip condition, which was aggravated by the fall. He later had hip replacement surgery.
Both sides agreed to the settlement during mediation with retired Superior Court Judge L. Anthony Gibson.
