Point Pleasant Borough Man Lying in Herbertsville Road was Not Hit by a Car, Police Say
The 41-year-old borough man, who had apparently fallen, was released from the hospital

A 41-year-old borough man had apparently gotten drunk and fallen in the east lane of Herbertsville Road, but was not hit by a car, police said on Tuesday.
The man suffered facial injuries when he fell "due to a high level of intoxication," said Captain Richard Larsen.
The man, who police are still not identifying, has been released from Jersey Shore Medical Center where he was transported by the Point Boro First Aid Squad sometime after 9:15 p.m. Saturday Larsen said.

"The follow-up investigation disclosed that the victim was not struck by a vehicle," he said. "This determination was not solely made by only an examination of the injuries. A complete follow up investigation was conducted."
Larsen said police consider the investigation closed.
