POINT PLEASANT BEACH - The Food Shack, a small but very popular breakfast and lunch eatery near the dock at Ken's Landing, must close by Nov. 26, owner Gail Coulter said.
"It is really sad, sad times," she said.
Coulter started the Food Shack four years ago, a career change after treatment for breast cancer. But now she has lost her lease with Ken's Landing and must close her place on Nov. 26, she told app.com.

The people who work for her and her customers have become like family.
"It really was a unique little place that we had," she told app.com. "We just had the best customers in the world. It is just a shame that it is not going to happen anymore."

Norma Keller, who owns Ken's Landing, said the restaurant space is needed for office space and a luncheonette.
Coulter will head to Florida for a couple of months before she decides what she will do next.
"I am going to regroup once I get back into town in March.," she said. "I don't think I am finished with this business yet. It's too good. … Hopefully, I will find a new home."
The restaurant is still open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays through Sunday until Nov. 26.
