Power Outage Affecting Point Pleasant, Brick Homes Continues
Point Pleasant residents with medical needs requiring electricity can call the department's non-emergency number, police said.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — A power outage that started Tuesday evening in parts of Point Pleasant and Brick Township is anticipated to continue into Wednesday afternoon, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.
There were more than 1,700 homes and businesses in Point Pleasant and more than 500 in Brick still without electricity as of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the JCP&L outage map.
JCP&L is estimating power will be restored by about 1 p.m., according to the computerized estimates.

The outage initially was affecting more than 3,800 customers in Point Pleasant and more than 500 in Brick as of 5:30 p.m.
Point Pleasant officials, in an alert to residents, said JCP&L did not have an estimate of when power might be restored. There are four out of 10 circuits that serve Point Pleasant that have been damaged, according to the outage information website.

Residents who need oxygen or have other medical needs that rely on electricity should call the police department's non-emergency number, 743-892-0060, if they need medical transportation, police said.
Anyone who needs to report their power outage should call JCP&L at 800-662-3115.
