Help his GoFundMe account reach its goal of $100,000

POINT PLEASANT, NJ - It's been weeks since young husband and father of three Peter Matarana was killed in a construction accident in Franklin Township on Oct. 17.

Residents and friends have stepped up since then to contribute $75,248 to his GoFundMe account. The goal for the account is $100,000. More is still needed.

The original GoFundMe goal of $30,000 was quickly surpassed, two days after the page was established. A new goal of $50,000 was set, which has also been eclipsed. The new goal is now $100,000.

"Yesterday morning I lost the BEST husband, father, friend...just the best man that anyone could ever be so lucky to know. He was patient, kind, funny, hardworking, handsome...man was he handsome!!!

According to the page, his "whole world" was his three kids.

"He adored them in every way and did everything to make them happy. They sat like puppies by the front door waiting for him to come home from work everyday. As for me..there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't feel how much he loves me. Pete showed me everyday in every way. I was so lucky. My heart is broken. I love you more, Pete, forever."
