POINT PLEASANT BORO – "You are heroes. We sincerely appreciate you."

This was among the tributes a Point Pleasant Boro resident paid to sanitation and postal workers who arrived at her door, or pulled her cans, this past week.

Marsha Milelli, a 20-year Point Pleasant Boro resident, said she is "a solitary widow, in my seventh decade of life and with co-morbidities. The wonderful people who bring necessities to me and remove refuse are crucial to my continued good health."

"Recognition of the dedicated people who have helped us for years seems especially appropriate now that they are also at the front lines, risking their lives as much as anyone," she said.

Milelli said the signs are on her trash cans and on her recycle bins.

"Obviously, these gentlemen appreciated the signs and wanted a memento. They should have more recognition than just my poor signs," she said.

"The front door also thanks those who bring necessities to us and help keep us safe."
