What's Coming Up in Boro, Beach Area This Week

School ends, graduations, free legal clinic and Beach Council meets

 

It's the time of year when school parents have to mark their calendars with school half days, last days and graduation.

At 6:30 p.m., the eighth grade graduates from Memorial Middle School in Point Borough.

On Tuesday night the Point Borough High School Class of 2013 graduates and then celebrates at Project Graduation at The Atlantic Club.

The Borough's last two days of school, both half days, are Monday and Tuesday.

The Point Beach High School Senior Cruise around Manhattan is Monday, followed by graduation and Project Graduation on Wednesday night.

An Evening with Claire Boren, Holocaust Survivor and Artist, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Point Borough branch of the Ocean County library on Beaver Dam Road. For more information, click here.

The Point Borough Council meeting that had been scheduled for Tuesday night has been canceled. When a new date is scheduled, it will be posted on Patch.

Point Beach Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall. The agenda includes an ordinance for introduction of the municipal budget and a discussion of recent flooding issues. To see the full agenda, click here.

The SuperFit Championships, a series of intense qualifying fitness competitions, will host its Championship at the Jenkinson’s Inlet Beach on the North End on Saturday, June 22nd from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The competitors participated in one of four qualifiers (Westfield, Toms River, Teaneck, and Morristown) with the top 95 finalists now competing in the Championship. In addition to the SuperFit finalists, there will be a wounded warrior division with eight veterans participating in their own workouts in support of the Wounded Warrior Project.
