New Playground Equipment Coming To Princeton: Council
Hilltop Park is set to receive $664,023 in improvements, including inclusive playground equipment and a new batting cage.
PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton’s Hilltop Park is set to receive over half a million dollars in playground improvements, according to Princeton council members at the March 27 meeting.
Hilltop Park is set to receive $664,023 in improvements with existing equipment set to be removed, according to council documents. A new batting cage and landscape wall is also slated to be installed.
The improvements will help to make the Bunn Drive park an “inclusive” play space for children of different ages and abilities, according to a memo from executive recreation director Evan Moorhead. The specific equipment set to be installed remains to be announced.

The council unanimously approved a $446,851 contract to Brooklyn, N.Y.-based MRC Inc. for the playground equipment; contracts in the amounts of $188,272 to RubbeRecycle and $28,900 to Sunset Creations, Inc. were also approved for rubber playground surfacing and the installation of a batting cage and landscape wall, respectively.
“Based on the name of the [rubber playground resurfacing] company, this is recycled material, so that’s a good thing,” council member David Cohen said.
