Pool to Remain Open Thru Sept. 16

The Princeton Recreation Department will extend hours at Community Park Pool past Labor Day for the 2012 season. CP Pool will be open on weekends only, Sept. 8-9 and Sept. 15-16, from noon to 5 p.m.

All pool memberships will be valid through the extra weekend dates and daily admission rates will still be in effect. The Wading Pool program and Adult and Senior lap swim programs will not be in effect past Labor Day, but the dedicated lap lane will remain open from noon to 5 pm.  The snack bar will be open, weather permitting.

“This is a service that we have offered in some previous seasons that we were not able to offer in 2011 due to our construction schedule,” Recreation Executive Director Ben Stentz said. “Once school begins, it’s extremely hard for us to round up enough lifeguards to staff a facility as big as CP but we are working hard already to at least get enough staff to open from 12 – 5 on these weekends. I certainly hope the pool community will get a chance to enjoy one last swim before we winterize the facility.”

Beginning August 2 through Labor Day, the pool complex will close at 7:30 pm instead of the normal 8 p.m. to account for the earlier sunset times.
