Wild Turkey Wanders Through Princeton

Wildlife seem to love our town.

Clay Street resident Hank Pannell received quite a surprise on Wednesday afternoon around 2 p.m. when a female wild turkey sauntered through his yard.

"I was quite surprised," Pannell said. "I was walking by my kitchen window and I saw this bird and I ran and got my camera.

"It just hung around in my little garden for a while, then stepped off and beyond fence area and I didn’t see it any more," he said.

Several people saw the turkey as it meanered through the Borough, he said. The last sighting Pannell heard about was about 7 p.m., as the bird crossed Witherspoon Street and held up traffic in front of Conte's Pizza.
