Cable Installer Hospitalized After Falling From Ladder In Ridgewood

A cable installer was taken to the hospital after he fell while working in Ridgewood on Thursday, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Emergency workers responded to Ridgewood on Thursday afternoon when a cable installer fell from a ladder and was injured, police said.

Police Captain Glenn Ender said that shortly after noon, the 46-year-old worker fell approximately 20 feet. The ladder was in front of 251 Manor Road.

The man was taken to Valley Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries, Ender said.

Last month, a fall from a ladder turned deadly.

A 40-year-old painter working at a house in Ridgewood fell from the roof and died days later.

In that case, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called in to respond. Police said that they did not need to call OSHA for the latest accident.
