Car Slams Into Ridgewood Whole Foods, Driver Hospitalized: Police
Photos of the crash scene showed broken glass and debris blanketing the ground.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — An Audi Q5 smashed through the front entrance of a Whole Foods Market, shattering the glass door and damaging the exterior wall, photos of the scene showed.
The driver of the SUV, a 73-year-old Mahwah woman, was hospitalized for evaluation and treatment, after she had accidentally hit the gas and plowed through the front of the Ridgewood grocery store on Tuesday, village police chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.
The driver — who was trying to park near the store entrance — may have had some sort of medical issue when she mistakenly hit the accelerator, the chief said.
