Cops: Man Accused in High Speed Car Chase Flees Ridgewood Police on Foot

Cops were serving a warrant for the man's arrest last week when he fled, police say.

A Ridgewood man who made a run from cops last week is now behind bars.

According to a release from the Ridgewood Police Department Tuesday, cops went to a Linwood Avenue home last Wednesday to serve arrest warrants issued by the NJ State Police and the Roxbury Police to Michael Dorkhom. The 30-year-old allegedly fled from his home and was chased on foot through the area, police said.

When cops caught up with Dorkhom, he was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest by force, resisting arrest by flight, and interference with transportation, police said. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $135,000 bail.

Police did not comment on what the original warrant for Dorkhom's arrest was for, but nj.com reported last week that he was allegedly involved in a high-speed chase through Warren County, driving up to 150 mph on June 15 to elude police attempting to pull him over for a traffic violation.

According to the report, the charges stemming from the two pursuits are not related.
