Councils and School Boards Meeting, 9/11 Ceremony This Week
With Labor Day behind us, it's time to get back to work.

School boards, municipal governments have a busy week ahead as fall gets into gear. Check out our list of things going on for more information.
Monday
- The Ridgewood Board of Education will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. at its usual Education Center spot.
- The school board will hear the opening of school report by Superintendent Daniel Fishbein. In addition, Ashby Award winner Greg Wu will be recognized. There will also be a presentation on Willard Elementary being named a Blue Ribbon School.
- The Glen Rock school board is expected to hear a progress report on the status of the high school football fields. Issues with construction are threatening to force away games for Panthers in fall of 2012. Action starts at 8 p.m.
- The Glen Rock Borough Council will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. for a work session.
Tuesday

- The Ridgewood Board of Adjustment is meeting at Village Hall at 7:30 p.m. The agenda mostly appears to contain variances for residential additions.
- Ridgewood will be remembering its 12 victims of 9/11 at Mt. Carmel Church for mass at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Aronsohn will participate by reading a proclamation. An exhibit at the library running through September honors the lives of those who died 11 years ago on Tuesday.
- The Glen Rock Recreation Advisory Committee will be meeting at 8 p.m. in Borough Hall.
- Parents of Somerville Elementary School students check out what's going on for Back to School Night beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday
- Ridgewood's five council members should have a short meeting after an exhaustive four-plus hour meeting last Wednesday. The public meeting starts at 8 p.m.
- In Glen Rock, the council is expected to discuss issues with shade trees at 8 p.m.
- It's Parents Night at Glen Rock High School at 7 p.m.
- Meet the Ridgewood Board of Education members and Superintendent Daniel Fishbein for coffee at 7:30 p.m. at the Education Center.
Thursday

- Parents of Glen Rock Middle School students head to the classroom at 7 p.m. for Back to School night.
- In Ridgewood, parents of B.F. students and Orchard kids are called upon to head to Back to School nights, each at 7:30 p.m.
- It's Teen Gaming Night at the Glen Rock Public Library starting at 3:30 p.m.
- The Glen Rock Zoning Board will be meeting at Borough Hall at 7:30 p.m.
