Food Drive Featured at This Week's Kasschau Memorial Shell Concert

Bobby Byrne is giving a concert in Ridgewood this Tuesday.

The following was submitted to Patch by the Kasschau Memorial Shell Committee.

A Food Drive for Social Services is being held at the Bobby Byrne Concert on June 24 at the Kasschau Memorial Shell in Ridgewood.

Bring non perishable products to the concert that evening. The supply of food at Social Services pantry becomes dire during the summer months and this is an opportunity to help those who require assistance.

Fifty percent of the clients are children with many elderly and single parents in need.

Byrne describes his act as the following:

The Bobby Byrne Show is a unique blend of music that features Broadway show-stoppers, Irish ballads, Italian arias, hilarious novelty numbers, Elvis Presley rockers and old time sing-a-long songs. Bobby will often segue from a foot-stomping medley of Elvis Presley rockers to a classical aria like "Vesti La Giubba" from "Pagliacci". Then, before you can dry the tears after that one, he'll have you laughing at something called "Bridey Murphy and the Kamikaze Pilot."

The concert starts at 8:30 p.m. at Vets Field. Bring a blanket or chair. Rain location is GW Middle School.

Thank you to Kings Food Markets and Boiling Springs Savings Bank for sponsoring this performance.
