Man Steals U-Haul From Bergen County Rental Spot: Police

A man rented a U-Haul in Bergen County and never came back with it, police say.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A man using phony ID borrowed a U-Haul from a Glen Rock spot last month and never returned it, police said.

The regional manager of U-Haul reported the theft to the Glen Rock police last Wednesday, they said.

The manager told police that a man leased the 2024 GM cargo van from the U-Haul location on Maple Avenue. The lease was for just one day on Aug. 26, but that's the last they saw of it.

U-Haul "exhausted their standard internal procedures to recover the vehicle" before reporting it stolen to police, they said.

Police investigated and determined that the man who leased the van had used a fake driver's license.
