PHOTOS: HGTV Updates Ridgewood Living Room

Chances of a lifetime don’t happen that often. But for one Ridgewood family, that chance came in the form of a home makeover.

After purchasing their 1950’s Cape Cod home in 2003, residents Philip and Lisa Meringolo felt their living room was “stuck in a time warp” and was aging “prematurely,” according to HGTV Magazine. More importantly, it wasn’t the living room that stay-at-home mom Lisa envisioned.

But with the help of HGTV, Phillip, Lisa, and their children, 12-year-old Matthew and 9-year-old Nicholas, got a “hippier and fresher” livingroom, with colors, patterns and artwork.

Lisa says the new and improved room has inspired her to “go contemporary with the rest of the house,” according to HGTV Magazine.
