Police are investigating a series of criminal mischief incidents involving a man kicking the windows of four Ridgewood storefronts late Thursday night, according to village police. West side merchants at 23 Godwin (the now-vacant La Strada), 34 Wilsey Square (Opus One Art Gallery), 33 Godwin (Pizza Fusion) and 39 Godwin (Joseph's Elite Hair Salon) sustaining damage in the incidents. None of the windows outright shattered. No thefts were reported and the suspect did not attempt to make entry, police said. Ridgewood police say they have made substantial progress since the first reports came in just before midnight Friday, and detectives are investigating a "person of interest" in the case.
