Quarterly Municipal Taxes Due August 1

Third-quarter taxes to village can be mailed or paid online

It's tax time, so get your checkbooks ready. The Ridgewood Village Council recently adopted a resolution authorizing the Village Tax Collector to send out via mail the estimated 2011 third quarter tax bills. This estimation amounts to $1.949 per hundred thousand dollars of assessed home value, according to information posted by the Tax Collector on the village website.

The bill is due on August 1 and allows for a ten-day grace period. Anything after the ten days will have an interest penalty attached. Postmark is not accepted.

Once the 2011 tax rate for the village has officially been certified by the county's tax board, the tax collector will send another bill noting the final tax payment due November 1, as well as preliminary payments for Feb 1 and May 1 in 2012.
