River Vale Man Sexually Assaulted Woman On New Year's Day: Prosecutors
A River Vale man is accused of sexually assaulting the victim on New Year's Day, prosecutors said.
RIVER VALE, NJ — A River Vale man has been charged with sexually assaulting an incapacitated woman on New Year's Day, prosecutors said.
Julian A. Morris, 20, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Friday.
The assault happened in River Vale in the early hours of Jan. 1, prosecutors said, and the woman was incapacitated at the time.

The assault was reported to River Vale police at an unspecified time on Jan. 1, and police contacted the Special Victims Unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office that day, prosecutors said.

Authorities did not provide additional details about where the assault happened or who reported it to River Vale police.

According to the complaint filed in Morris's arrest, the woman was taken to an unspecified medical facility for treatment after the assault. She was interviewed by authorities on Jan. 7, the complaint said.
The complaint also cites witness statements and "corroborating video evidence" but does not go into detail on either.
Morris left the scene after the assault, the complaint said.
Morris was being held at the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
