Reading Nook To 'Bring Magic' To Little Ones In Ridgewood
"We help (children) be confident to read and enjoy every book they pick off the shelf," Book Nook Enrichment founder Rina Collins said.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Soon, this "cozy book nook" will take young Ridgewood children on reading journey that is purported to be nothing short of magical.
Book Nook Enrichment, an early childhood literacy studio, is coming to Ridgewood, at 32 Cottage Place (previously occupied by a dry cleaner), according to the real estate agency that represented in the lease.
Family-owned Book Nook, which started 11 years ago in New York City, has decided to head to the suburbs after expanding to four city locations, founder Rina Collins said.

"We have many New York City families who attended Book Nook and moved to Bergen County," Collins said, "and as a Jersey girl myself, it was a natural choice (to open a location here)."
Collins said she and her husband Andy Collins looked for "family-friendly neighborhoods" with a strong sense of community, academics and charm, and that would believe in the studio's mission — "that every child deserves to discover the wonder and joy that books can hold."

"We found the perfect home in Ridgewood," she said. "We are so excited to bring our magic to little ones in the village."
Book Nook, which offers literacy classes to children ages 18 months to 12 years old, will open in the 2,076-square-foot space sometime this spring (exact date not yet announced). This will be the program's fifth location, as the children's spot seeks additional spots throughout New Jersey, the real estate firm Katz & Associates said.
"Reading isn't a chore. It's an adventure," Collins said, quoting the program's slogan.
"Whether your child can’t put their books down – or doesn’t want to pick one up – we help them be confident to read and enjoy every book they pick off the shelf," she added.
