Registration for Annual Ridgewood, Fair Lawn Weight Loss Challenge Begins March 23

Residents and Village employees who participate in the year's 12-week challenge will have weekly weigh-ins at Village Hall on Wednesdays.

Registration for the Annual Ridgewood/Fair Lawn Weight Loss Challenge is scheduled for Monday, March 23.

During last year’s Weight Loss Challenge, participants received motivational emails and “were encouraged to attend free health and fitness classes at The Valley Hospital, the Ridgewood YMCA and Retro Fitness, which offered free passes,” NorthJersey.com reported. All together, the 260 participants lost a total of 907 pounds.

“The goal of the challenge was to help residents become more aware of their health, and to encourage them to make a change towards healthier lifestyles,” said Danielle Cinnante, a health educator with Valley’s Department of Community Health and Community Benefit, during last year’s challenge. “We like to emphasize that this was not about dieting, it was about learning to live a healthy lifestyle and supporting each other while doing it!”
