GR Rock to be in National Geographic Mag, Report Says
Boulder to be featured in Feb. 20 issue of National Geographic, according to northjersey.com report
Glen Rock's most notable landmark will be getting a feature in the upcoming issue of National Geographic Magazine, according to a report on northjersey.com.
The 570-ton rock, which rests at the intersection of Doremus Ave. and Rock Rd., is believed to have moved to its current spot during the Glacial Age, approximately 15,000 years ago.
It was called "Pamachapura" ("Stone from Heaven") by the Lenape Indians, and was also a prominent trail marker for Colonial travelers.
