Ridgewood Filmmaker's Movie to be Screened at White House

A Ridgewood filmmaker has been invited to the White House to screen a documentary he made about dads in the United States.

According to a release, Ridgewood resident Dana Glazer has been invited to the White Hose to screen clips of his feature documentary film, “The Evolution of Dad” at the White House Summit For Working Dads, happening Monday. The White House announced that the Summit is meant to, "explore the breadth of roles dads play today at home" and "the new challenges dads experience balancing career and family."

The event is set to include a panel of experts discussing some of the issues Glazer’s film looks at, like stigma for fathers in the workplace, stories of unique fathers, paternity leave, and flexible work schedules for dads.

“It’s a dream come true to be invited to the White House and to be a part of this important event,” Glazer said in the release.

According to its trailer, the movie explores the relationship between masculinity and stay-at-home fatherhood, and a shift from the traditional “bring home the bacon” fatherhood role. See the film’s trailer here.
