Ridgewood Hospital Named Among Best In Country In New Ranking

"This recognition is a testament to the innovative work of our staff," Valley Health System president and CEO Audrey Meyers said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood's The Valley Hospital was recognized as one of relatively few hospitals in the U.S. that provide great care, research and innovation, according to Newsweek.

The hospital, located at 223 North Van Dien Avenue, was named one of the country's best hospitals in a listing introduced by the magazine.

Created by data firm Statista, the World's Best Hospitals ranking recognizes the "very best institutions" across 28 countries, Newsweek global editor in chief Nancy Cooper said.

Valley was ranked the 121st hospital in the country, and among the top three hospitals in New Jersey.

“We are honored to be considered among the best hospitals in the world,” Valley Health System president and CEO Audrey Meyers said. “This recognition is a testament to the innovative work of our doctors, nurses, and staff in delivering an exceptional patient experience.”

Hospitals recognized were selected according to peer recommendations, patient surveys and medical key performance indicators. Participating hospitals registered, submitted data and additional information to Statista, which is then analyzed and reviewed, resulting in the ratings.

"The goal of this study is to provide a data-based comparison of hospital reputation and performance across countries," global editor Cooper said. "We hope this will be useful to patients and families seeking the best care for themselves and loved ones, as well as to hospitals as they benchmark themselves against their peers."
