Ridgewood Pair Opening Dessert Chain in Ho-Ho-Kus
Tasti D-Lite franchise coming to the borough in September

Ridgewood residents Vinny Errigo and Donna Sabatini will be opening up a health-conscious frozen dessert business in neighboring Ho-Ho-Kus this September.
Tasti D-Lite, a chain founded in 1987 that has expanded across the country in recent months, will be located at 622 North Maple Avenue, according to a press release issued by the company.
“We weren’t looking to open a business,” Errigo who will manage the day-to-day operations, said in the press release. “Donna and I were just at home one day, both craving Tasti D-Lite, when we looked online for the nearest center only to find out it was 40 miles away. We knew right away there were others like us who know and love the product’s great taste and healthier nutritional profile and would visit often if it was in their neighborhood.”

The plans were approved by the Ho-Ho-Kus Planning Board earlier this summer, according to a report by the Town Journal. One resident objected to the opening on the belief Ho-Ho-Kus had an ordinance blocking franchises; according to the report, no such ordinance in Ho-Ho-Kus exists.
Ridgewood's "fast food ordinance" has blocked similar "fast food" businesses from opening in the Ridgewood Central Business District and the village .
