The 15-year-old was struck around 8 a.m. on Friday, said Ridgewood police. The local ambulance squad took him to Hackensack University Center for treatment.

Police issued the driver a summons for failure to stop and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, Ender said.
The Ridgewood Public Schools wrote on Facebook, "Out of an abundance of caution, our student was escorted to the hospital with one of our administrative team to ensure that it was just the cuts and abrasions it appeared to be. We have now confirmed this. The car was rolling, not actually driving at a speed, but did run into the student."
