School Board, Glen Rock Teachers Union Make Progress on Contract
Salary guide item in 2014-2015 school year has held up ratification of a contract, sending both parties to mediation with a state board.

It appears a that has held up a new teacher contract in Glen Rock for nearly a year could soon be coming to an end.
School board president Sheldon Hirschberg told Patch on Tuesday that the board and union representatives recently had "an extremely constructive meeting." Though he legally could not offer specifics, Hirschberg said progress has been made between the two sides.
Ratification of the contract – first agreed to last September but never signed – could come as soon as June 24, when the school board meets next.

A he-said-she-said dispute over a $94,532 salary guide item in the 2014-2015 led to both sides claiming the other didn't play fair. The contract stipulatedteachers and support staff were to see a 1.9 percent raise in 2012-2013, a 2.9 percent raise in 2013-2014 and a 2.3 percent raise in 2014-2015.
