Stolen MacBook, Gas Station Payment Dispute: Glen Rock Blotter

GLEN ROCK, NJ - Glen Rock police responded to 267 calls between Jan. 6 and 12, including reports of stolen electronics from a car and fraudulent bank account activity.

01-08-2020 - Payment Dispute

4:59 PM – Patrols were dispatched to a dispute over payment at the Exxon Station located at Maple Avenue and Highwood Avenue. Upon arrival it was found that the station owner had allegedly extended credit to a 33-year-old Ridgewood man, two months in the past, as he did not have funds to pay for gas at that time. The man insisted that he had paid an unknown attendant at the gas station in the past and no longer owed the money. Neither party had any documentation to support their claims and were advised that this was a civil matter, not a police matter. The Ridgewood man was escorted from the property and was given notice against trespassing by the station owner.

01-09-2020 - Stolen MacBook, iPad

11:22 AM – A Glen Rock woman filed a police report alleging that electronics were stolen from her vehicle sometime the prior day at an unknown location. The items reported as stolen were a Mac Brook Pro Valued at $1,600 and an iPad 11 valued at $1,200. There are no known witnesses or evidence.

01-10-2020 - Fraudulent Bank Activity

1:35 PM – A Glen Rock man reported fraudulent activity on his TD Bank debit card. He was notified of the activity by a text alert received from TD Bank inquiring about a withdrawal made at a Fulton Corner ATM. Upon further review he discovered additional unauthorized transactions which had occurred in New York City. TD Bank subsequently canceled his ATM card and recommended that he file a police report. The detective bureau is currently reviewing the matter.
