Strawberry Delight At Oliver's Chocolates

If you haven't nailed down just what to get your Valentine on Feb. 14, Oliver Abel thinks he might just have the winning combination in store – a decadent strawberry chocolate treat.

"It's a double-coated strawberry," he says, "It's highly unsual." Beyond being unique in how it's crafted, the combo is by far the biggest seller as Valentine's Day approaches at .

And Valentine's Day, naturally, is the biggest day of the year for chocolatiers. 

A half-pound can be had for $11 and a full pound for $22. They're selling quickly, he says, recommending shoppers stop by to the E. Ridgewood Ave. shop and get them by Monday.

The usual suspect, truffles, is also doing well, Abel said.

Asked how business compared to last year, Abel said things are more favorable. "People are happier, so it's been better than last year."
