Sweet Threads at Suite 201

Ridgewood's youngest business owner might just be its hippest – and Alina Leshiner wants to share her boutique closet with the fashionable ladies of Bergen County.

Leshiner, a native of Washington Township, is the owner, stylist and buyer at on Walnut Street.

Blonde, bubbly and energetic, Leshiner got her start in retail a decade ago. At 19, she became the buyer for an upscale boutique before fetching the gig as Fashion Director for prominent Real Housewives of New Jersey hotspot, Posche Boutique in Wayne.

Opening her store in Ridgewood has been a dream come true, she says.

"I love Ridgewood," she says excitedly. "This is the only place I ever wanted a store! I obviously love all the other business in town, but I don't feel like there's any store like mine in town and I felt this area needed something like this."

Suite 201 has become a staple shop for high school girls, young professionals, moms and even "the super cool grandmas," Leshiner laughs.

"It's a contemporary women's clothing store," she said, pointing to a few Chanel necklaces nestled between rows of blouses and skirts. From accessories to shoes, to denim and threads, the small store has a good deal of variety – it's not the Chico's look and the lines can't found at department stores, the owner says.

"Most of my brands are from L.A., New York, Australia and a couple from Hawaii," she says. "I wanted a store where you could find fun things you can't get anywhere else."

Leshiner turns 26 this week and will be celebrating her birthday for Fashion Week in New York, where she finds many of the new clothes at her chic boutique.

Still, expect to see something new every day at her store on Walnut Street. "If nothing new comes in, it's a bad day," she laughs.

Beyond finding the fun, trendy clothes, Leshiner believes having a personal relationship with the customer is critical.

"I want people to feel that they can have a nice shopping experience here," she says, adding that she often texts customers to remind them when their orders are ready. "I think it's super important to have close relations with customers. And we have that here!"

Another benefit of being her own boss? "I can show up late!" she giggles. "I'm just kidding though, I don't! I'm here on time!"
