Three Hour Parking Meters Could Come by Fall

Ridgewood looking to add an hour to parking limits on the main drag.

Ever drop a few quarters in the parking meter, race back a few hours later only to find the blinking "00:00" and a parking ticket sandwiched between your windshield wipers?

That's still likely to happen in Ridgewood, but a new initiative might buy customers a bit of time.

The council has instructed Village Manager Ken Gabbert to look into increasing the parking meter time limits from two hours to three hours all along East Ridgewood Avenue, Mayor Paul Aronsohn said Thursday.

The pseudo-lot by the train station and on Van Neste Square would likely be included, Aronsohn said.

He hopes the plan can be implemented by the end of summer.
