Tuesday: Hawes, Travell Float On!

Travell may have won the Best Float competition, but Hawes also made the New York Times

1) , which has some really top-notch chocolates, is for sale according to several sources.

2) Some Ridgewood students made the lead photo on The New York Times' Wordplay blog for their float in the 4th of July Parade. Hawes Elementary Schoolers made the cut and so did Best Float winner Travell, which featured a very young Barak Obama on a really, really awesome float.

3) The Ridgewood Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. There are several items of note on the agenda.

4) Village Attorney Matt Rogers was one of the sponsors to the Ridgewood 4th of July evening celebrations. A few of the other big sponsors were Applebee's (although there's no Applebee's in Ridgewood) and Tarvin Realty.

5) The big village fireworks display sure was something, but did anyone else notice a smaller, illegal showing going on just above the treeline on the North Irving/Warren Place area just before the village fireworks?
