YWCA Appoints New Board Officers

The Bergen County Board of Directors installed its 2011-12 officers during its recent annual meeting.

Nisha Cordero was appointed president; Christina Gibbons, First Vice President; Mary Jo Kurtz, Second Vice President; Colette Tretola, Treasurer; and Cara Murray, Secretary.

Operating out of 112 Oak Street in Ridgewood, the YWCA (separate from the YMCA) is a non-profit tasked with "eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all."

The organization is the area's largest provider of child care services, a leader in health and fitness and houses the county's only Rape Crisis Center.
