Union County Woman Shot Dead In Double Homicide

A woman from Plainfield as well as an unidentified male were both killed in a Neptune Township shooting Wednesday night.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — An 18-year-old woman from Union County, as well as an unidentified man, were fatally shot in Neptune Township Wednesday night. The incident is currently under investigation, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.

Neptune Township Police officers found the two victims in a parked vehicle on the 1300 block of Washington Avenue, shortly before 8:15 p.m. The woman, Samore Edwards of Plainfield, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The male victim was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
