What's Happening This Week in Scotch Plains and Fanwood
A look at meetings and events taking place the week of Jan. 14 in Scotch Plains and Fanwood.

Monday
At 4p.m. the teen advisory board will hold its meeting at the Scotch Plains Public Library. The board works on planning fun and exciting events for teens their age (grades 7-12).
Also at the Scotch Plains library, job seekers can visit the January program of the career-networking group. This event will take place at 6:30 p.m. and is open to all those who are in search of a new career.
The Historic Preservation Commission of Fanwood will meet at 7:15 p.m. at the Community House (old train station).
The Scotch Plains Planning Board will hold its annual reorganization meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers of the Scotch Plains Municipal Building.
The Fanwood Planning board will also meet at 7:30 p.m. at Fanwood Borough Hall.
The Fanwood Library Board of Trustees will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Fanwood Memorial Library.

Tuesday
The Scotch Plains Township Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
The Borough of Fanwood Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Fanwood Borough Hall.
Why We Dance, will be offering free hip-hop classes at La Grande Park from 7p.m. to 8p.m. Classes are open to everyone. Register at whywedance@gmail.com or by calling 908.432.2003.

Wednesday
The Fanwood recycling center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday
The Christopher Academy will be holding an open house for families of interested students. The Montessori schools serves children from age 2 ½ to First grade. The open house will beginat 7:30 p.m.
At 8 p.m. the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education will hold its Open Public Meeting.
Friday
The Little Shop of Comics in Scotch Plains will hold a “Board Game Night,” from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday Bigg Playdate will be holding their indoor farmer’s market featuring plenty of food vendors both from the summer market and new vendors. The market takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1730 East Second Street in Scotch Plains.
