SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

On April 1 at 6:37 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 34-year-old male of West New York, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. He was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.

On April 2 at 10:20 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 58-year-old male of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $1,000 with a 10% option. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.

On April 3 at 4:23 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Kohls on a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 51-year-old male of Hawthorne, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. He was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $7,500 with a 10 % option along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $1,000. Police also arrested a 40-year-old male of Weehawken, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and a 49-year-old female of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $2,500 with a 10 % option. The woman was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody. Both were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On April 3 at 9:28 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Edison Police Department to take into custody a 36-year-old male, James Gibson of Brooklyn, NY for a warrant issued by Secaucus Police in relation to a shoplifting and burglary incident that occurred at Best Buy on 3 Mill Creek Drive on 03/07/2024. The warrant was issued for the charges of Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)] and Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)]. Mr. Gibson was also charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(2)] and Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] for an incident that occurred on Aug. 27, 2023 at the Secaucus Best Buy and was additionally charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)] and Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] for an incident that occurred at the Best Buy on Dec. 16, 2023. Mr. Gibson was issued all complaint warrants and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On April 1 at 9:15 p.m., in relation to an incident of terroristic threats that was reported to the police earlier on that same date, Secaucus Police responded to Hamburg, NJ and arrested a 57-year-old male of Hamburg, NJ for Terroristic Threats [2C:12-3B] and Witness Tampering [2C:12-3A]. He was issued his complaint warrant pending a future court date.

On April 4 at 1:55 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 29-year-old male of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail. He was issued 4 motor vehicle summonses and officers from the Jersey City Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and took custody of Mr. Brown for transport back to their authority.

On April 4 at 5:43 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 62-year-old male of Union, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $600. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently released from police custody.

On April 5 at 11:29 a.m., in relation to a shoplifting that occurred at Hudson Wine Company located at 865 Roosevelt Avenue on 10/25/2023, Secaucus Police arrested a 56-year-old female of Secaucus, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)]. She was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. (This woman used to work for the town of Secaucus as a parking enforcement officer, but she was not employed by the town at the time of her arrest.)

On April 5 at 12:06 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Hartz Mountain property located at Park Plaza Drive and Mill Creek Drive on a report of an individual on the property refusing to leave. During the investigation, the police arrested a 65-year-old male of Garland, TX for Defiant Trespassing [2C:18-3B]. He was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On April 6 at 6:53 p.m., in relation to an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police regarding a criminal mischief incident that occurred at 500 Plaza Drive where a sledgehammer was used to break one of the revolving glass doors at that location, the police arrested a 65-year-old male, Gregory Simpson of Garland, TX for Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)], Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4D] and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D]. Mr. Simpson was arrested while walking in the parking lot at 300 Park Plaza Drive. Mr. Simpson was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On April 7 at 3:30 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Wayne Police Department to take into custody a 41-year-old male of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ with no bail along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Weehawken, NJ with no bail. He was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
