Mom, Toddler, Infant Stabbed, Man Shot In The Face: NJ July 4th
A mom and her two children were stabbed and seriously injured, while a man was charged after stabbing his landlord.
NEW JERSEY – A man was shot in the face, while two children were stabbed in separate incidents in New Jersey.

Man Beaten, Shot In Face While Sitting With Woman In Vehicle
A Jackson Township was beaten and shot in the face while he was sitting in a car outside a home, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced said.

Michael J. Vulpis, 26, of Freehold, was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon or ammunition in connection with a June 27 assault, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Jackson police were called to a home on Larsen Road about 12:20 a.m. on June 27 for a 27-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the face, the prosecutor's office said.

The man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he was treated and later released, authorities said.
Investigators learned the man and a woman were sitting in a parked vehicle outside a home when a blue sedan pulled up and parked in front of the vehicle, blocking it in, authorities said.
Two men got out, approached and knocked on the window of the vehicle. When the man got out, one of the men began punching him, and one of the assailants — later identified as Vulpis — shot the victim in the face, authorities said.
The attackers fled after the shooting, authorities said.
Investigators were able to determine Vulpis had shot the victim, authorities said.
Vulpis is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Mother, 2 Children Stabbed In Apartment In Essex County: Reports
A woman and her two toddlers were stabbed and critically injured early Thursday in an apartment in East Orange, according to media reports.
The family was attacked in an apartment on the second floor of a building on Park Avenue at North 18th Street just after 1:30 a.m., ABC 7 reported.
The woman, in her 20s, and her children, a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, were taken to University Hospital in Newark and were listed in critical condition, the New York Daily News reported.
The woman had lived in the building her whole life and one of her children had just celebrated a birthday, CBS New York reported.
East Orange police had not released any information Thursday afternoon.
Man Stabs Landlord, Charged With Murder
On Wednesday, around 5:19 p.m., the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to 789 Park Road, Mays Landing, in response to multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing in progress.
Officers arrived and found Solomon Lonner, 49, from Lakewood, NJ, inside the residence with multiple stab wounds.
Lonner was the owner of the residence. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Michael Carney, 39, of Mays Landing, was detained at the residence and eventually charged with murder and weapons offenses.
Carney is a resident of the Park Road residence and rented the home with several other individuals from Lonner. The cause and manner of Lonner's death are pending an autopsy by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
This incident is currently being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Hamilton Township Police Department.

Man Slashed In Head In Paterson: Report
A man was slashed in the head early morning on July 4 in Paterson, according to media reports.
The incident happened in the area of Mercer and Lafayette Street at 12:52 a.m., when officers discovered a man with a laceration behind his right ear, according to NJ.com.
The injury was non-life threatening and since the victim was nonverbal, he couldn’t tell the police what happened, the report said.
