Preschool Interest Form Opens Jan. 20 In South Brunswick

The lottery for the 2025-26 school year will be held the week of Feb. 24.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The preschool interest form for South Brunswick School District will open on Jan. 20 until Feb. 21.

The form will help school administrators gauge the interest in the district’s preschool program for the year 2025-2026.

Entry to the preschool program will be through a lottery system. To qualify for the program, children must live in South Brunswick and be 3 or 4 years old by Oct. 31, 2025.

The lottery for the 2025-26 school year will be held the week of Feb. 24. Those who have been selected for the program will receive an acceptance notification email on of before March 21, 5 p.m.

Students not accepted through the lottery will be placed on a waitlist.

The lottery is held through a virtual system that auto-generates numbers assigned to each applicant. The lottery prioritizes students in South Brunswick who are considered “at risk.” The criteria include economic status, multi-language learners, and early intervention services. These factors are also considered when creating class assignments.

The class ratio will be one teacher and aide for every 15 students.

Transportation will be provided for students who live beyond two miles of the school. Preschool follows the district calendar and requires a 10-month commitment. Classes are from 9 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.

Current preschool locations in the district include Dayton, Deans, Brunswick Acres, Constable, Greenbrook, Monmouth Junction and Lightbridge Academy.
